A beef share, also known as buying beef in bulk, a side of beef, or a portion of a cow (such as 1/2 or 1/4), is a way to purchase a larger quantity of high-quality beef directly from our farm.
-
We offer beef shares in sizes of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, or a whole cow, allowing you to stock up on a variety of cuts at a cost-effective price.
Check out our graphics below to determine how much to purchase.

Pay your deposit
We’ll send you the invoice to pay your deposit.
This secures your beef share appointment with us.
We’ll text you the link to the ‘Cut Sheet Order Form’ before we take in your beef.
We send this to the butcher for you.
You get to customize what cuts you and your family want & need.
Pay your final beef payment.
You’ll hear from us again the week we take in the steer for your share.
That week we’ll send you an invoice for the $3.75/lb hang weight minus your deposit paid.
Once paid, at this point you’ve paid in full for your beef, you just have your processing left to pay.
Pick up your beef & pay the processing fee
The butcher will call you when your beef is ready to be picked up.
Expect to pick it up 3-4 weeks after we take in your steer.
You pay them for processing upon pick up.
We’ll text you a ‘Beef Pick-up Guide’ showing you where you’ll pick up, how to pay, where to park when you get there, & more.
Enjoy your beef!
We’ll send you a text of our favorite recipes to enjoy that our family loves.

Your total cost is $3.75/lb hang weight + processing cost
What is hang weight? It is the carcass weight of the steer at the processor before it is hung to age 12-14 days.
You will pay Sanford Family Beef for the hang weight of the steer at $3.75/lb based on the share size you are getting.
You will pay the processor for the processing cost. Estimate $0.90-$1.20 per hang weight pound (varies by processor)

Check out this video as Jackie explains what a beef share is and how to order it.
STEP 1: HOW MUCH DO I NEED?
1/8th Beef Share
An 1/8th is picked up at our farm store.
To order: fill out the interest form.
Once you fill out interest form for an 1/8th, we can typically have it ready for you to pick up within 2 weeks.
We don’t have extras on hand. You have to order (fill out an interest form) before coming to the farm store to pick it up
We hand-pick our best cuts for you.
You get exactly what you see in the picture.
Price is $499
You can pay with credit, cash, AND an EBT card. We can’t accept EBT cards on 1/4 or 1/2’s. We love having a bulk option for EBT card holders.
An 1/8 is great for you because we can get it to you sooner than our other beef share sizes. We hand pick each cut. You are picking up from our farm store, not a butcher. It is a flat rate. You know exactly what you’re getting in the bundle.
